Bursaspor – Fenerbahce Match Preview

Fenerbahce visit Bursaspor on the 25th matchday of the Turkish Super League, today at 20:00 local time (-1 for ECT). Before this game, Fenerbahce remain 4th and Bursaspor 7th in the standings.

After last week’s unexpected draw against struggling Kocaelispor, Fenerbahce are now in a must-win situation. A loss in this game will damage the title bid deeply.

Daniel Guiza Factor

Daniel Guiza had a morale boost-up just before this game knowing that he will be in the Spain national team squad for the World Cup Qualification games this week. He was called-up by Vicent Del Bosque instead of Raul Gonzales and he will indeed try to prove a point in this game. This will probably help him to gain the confidence he has been lacking recently.

Alex’ Slight Injury

On the other hand Fenerbahce will miss Alex due to a slight injury. He is left outside the squad for the game. This will lower the crativity and pass percentage in the midfield but Emre Belozoglu will return in action after a one game suspension which will probably close that creativity gap in the midfield.

Opponent Side

Opponents have a mediocre quality squad with a mainly defensive mentality coach in charge. Bursaspor have been experiencing offensive problems as the team looks like doing things right in defense and midfield but fail to convert chances into goals. It wont be a surprise to expect a game with Fenerbahce possesion on the pitch and a counter attack style from the opponents.

Fenerbahce will definately not have a walk in the park in this game as the opponents have a good crowd for support and a counter attack mentality coach. This looks like a close game and a narrow Fenerbahce win is probable.

Possible Fenerbahce starting line-up:
Volkan Demirel, Roberto Carlos, Diego Lugano, Edu Dracena, Gokhan Gonul, Deniz Baris, Emre Belozoglu, Ugur Boral, Deivid de Souza, Semih Senturk, Daniel Guiza

Edit: Game Result : Bursaspor : 2 Fenerbahce : 1
