Fenerbahce qualified to the Quarter Finals of FIBA Euroleague


Fenerbahce women basketball team reached to the quarter finals of FIBA Euroleague after a thrilling encounter and beat LOTOS Gdynia 79-76 after an overtime.

The visiting team started the game with high shooting percentage and take the lead in the first half. Fenerbahce started to show its true potential mainly in the 3rd and 4th quarters but the game ended in a draw (63-63), thanks to the three-pointer made by Esmral Tuncluer at the last 10 seconds. The main factor which made Fenerbahce struggle was the 21 turnovers made during the game.

In the overtime it turned into a chess-like game and Fenerbahce reached to victory by keeping it calm and finally playing its own effective game in the final minutes. After all, both teams earned respect with a high quality basketball performance in a thrilling encounter. Legendary Katie Smith put a slightly above average performance during the game but sealed the game with 4 free throws made at the final parts of the overtime.
