Gaziantepspor : 2 Fenerbahce : 1, Turkish Super League

October 19, 2009 by fenerbahce

Fenerbahce lost to Gaziantepspor on the 9th matchday of the Turkish Super League. The 9 wins in a row dream has come to an end.

Fenerbahce controlled the game from the beginning since the first quarter of the second half. Goal from Semih at ‘30 gave the lead to Fenerbahce while opponents goals came at ‘84 and ‘90+4.

Missings of key players such as Alex, Guiza and Lugano had an effect on the team for sure but the main issue was the sitting back tactic on the second half which gave Gaziantepspor courage to attack.

Antalyaspor – Fenerbahce Match Preview

September 26, 2009 by fenerbahce

Fenerbahce football team visit Antalyaspor on the 7th matchday of the Turkish Super League, today at 20:00 (local time).  Antalyaspor remain 12th (2W – 4L) while Fenerbahce remain 2nd after winning all six games with goal difference.

Amazing Start

Fenerbahce started the season with six wins out of six games and conceded only two goals. This start keeps the morales high.

Emre Belozoglu Missing

Emre one of the most important players in Fenerbahce midfield is still missing due to three match ban. Without him Fenerbahce had hard times dictating tempo and organizing in the midfield. Daum will be looking for a solution by bringing in Mehmet Topuz and giving him the role of Emre. This didnt work smoothly in the last two games but looks like Mehmet Topuz has started to adapt life in Fenerbahce and willing to give his best on the pitch.

Guiza or Semih Senturk

Fenerbahce have two quality strikers but the tactic Daum has in his mind lets only one of them play. This brings the question; who fits better ? His career and quality brings Guiza step ahead in a comparison but looks like Semih Senturk is more suitable to a tactic with alone striker. This question will remain for a while indeed but it looks like Guiza will be on the starting line up.

As a summary, six wins out of six games gives the needed morale and motivation but also brings some extra motivation to the opponents too as they will be eager to say “stop here” so wont be easy but this match looks like a narrow win for Fenerbahce.

Besiktas – Fenerbahce Match Preview

May 3, 2009 by fenerbahce

Fenerbahce football team will face Besiktas on the 30th matchday of Turkish Super League.

No Motivation other than Rivalry

Fenerbahce will have no extra motivation other than match’s being a derby. The title race is pretty much over for Fenerbahce and the only goal is to win the Turkish Cup which will take place in Izmir on 13th May.

Opponent’s Title Chance

On the other hand Besiktas will be fully motivated as they remain 2nd before this game and if they achieve a win in this game they will climb to the 1st place as Sivasspor lost their game on this matchday.

Important Missings for Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce will miss Diego Lugano, Onder Turaci to suspension while Alex and Edu Dracena will be out due to injury problems. All these players are regular and important starting line-up players for Fenerbahce.

A win in this derby has more to add to the opponent side and Fenerbahce will only play in the name of the rivalry and look to get a result as a way of saying sorry to the fans and the board for the disappointing league season.
